Having recently purchased my first painting by this artist, I can truly say that I am delighted by it. I am one of these people who are not able to analyse art, I only know what gives pleasure to the eye and my painting by Vik certainly does that. I will be looking to purchase more in the future.
Can I just also say that the painting was delivered to me in less than twenty four hours of the purchase - excellent service.
Great website too! |

I absolutely love your work, the colours just make me feel happy. Excellent job and I'm with you about those posh galleries who don't inspire or help artists. I am off to college to do art but I have a website of my work if you would like to take a look. |

Like your colour work which I found quite cheerful and uplifting. I'm glad you are continuing with your painting and don't ever stop. Keep being true to yourself. Your work is good enough to hang in places like the Tate. Keep faith in your talent and make your dream happen. |

I love all kinds of art - modern and classical in particular and I enjoyed looking at your work.
I was surprised to read a comment asking you to research, research, research - what exactly? If you've been doing it for 30 years, then you will have lived a life, that's quite a bit of research in itself. Why does art have to represent our modern times? By nature art is expressive - or rather it should be and it's significance 100 years later will date it to now. We don't see history until it's happened! Many of the world's greatest artists infamously didn't get in to art schools because they dared to interprete the world in their way. This is individual thinking and inspires many people to succeed in their chosen artistic endeavours.
I love Tracey Emin's work in particular and I'm not sure what a screwed up cigarette packet had to say about modern times when I saw her retrospective in Edinburgh, but it did say something about the artist, her motivations for life and her work, which is what I'm as interested in as what the work is supposed to mean.
She is absolutely my favourite artist - yet many people have laughed at her work. What does that say? That she didn't do her research?
No, and while I respect a view that follows tradition and interpretation of what art should demonstrate or represent - whether that's giving someone at some point an indication of 'modern' times or unresearched work is irrelavent. The screwed up cigarette packet was kept because Tracey Emin's uncle smoked that particular brand and when she found out he'd died, she kept it as a memento of him. That's more interesting than any research she could have done at college.
Art is also interpretive and therefore, what one person gets from a painting or a sculpture will differ from individual to individual and my interpretation of art is about work that represents what motivates you and why you do what you do and how it makes me feel.
I can list many artists that were discovered after their deaths on account of 'posh' art critics telling them that they weren't researched, badly painted and basically didn't fit in to modern times....
Keep painting if it's part of you as you will always have a portfolio of work that YOU enjoy and if others do too, you've given them an experience irrespective of research or anything else. |

Hi Vik,
I love your use of colour and form. I feel as though I could look at it for hours and still see it fresh the next time I look. It reminds me of some well known artists from around the world. I enjoyed reading your life history too and wish you well for the future. Keep up fantastic work! |
